WORLD BALLET GRAND PRIX NORWAY 2023
International ballet competition and online awards.
The students of Vakhtang Chabukiani Tbilisi School of Ballet Art competed with great success at the World Ballet Grand Prix WBGP Norway 2023!
- Mari Kulijanishvili won first place and gold medal in classical variation and modern dance.
- Nana Tabagari won first place and gold medal in classical variation
- Nina Tavdgiridze won the first place and gold medal in classical variation
- Ana Datunashvili won first place and gold medal in classical variation
- In the classical variation, the second place and silver medal was won by Salome Yarajuli
- Nino Saginadze won the second place and silver medal in classical variation
- Davit Nakashidze won the second place and silver medal in classical variation
- Akaki Javakhishvili won third place and bronze medal in classical variation
- The first place and the gold medal in the group dance "Gandagana" were awarded to: A. Datunashvili, S. Iarajuli, M. Gulitashvili, T. Grigolashvili.

Italy City of Mesagne, International Ballet Competition "Talents of Italy."
The students of Vakhtang Chabukiani Tbilisi School of Ballet Art, Mesagne, Italy, successfully competed in the international ballet competition "Talents of Italy"!
- Mari Kulijanishvili won third place and bronze medal in classical variation, as well as first place and gold medal in modern dance.
- Megi Gelashvili won third place and bronze medal in modern dance
- Victoria Jikia, Elene Mchedlidze and Mariam Todua won the second place and silver medal in the group dance "Harlequinade".
- Tamar Usupashvili, Tekla Rusishvili, Tea Gadabadze won third place and bronze medal in group dance "Lazuri".

Angel Corella, the world-famous dancer, Artistic Director of the Philadelphia Ballet, joined us for an inspiring question-and-answer (Q&A) session.
The event was attended by students of the Vakhtang Chabukiani Ballet School, the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Georgia and the Friends of the Georgian Ballet.
Angel Corella shared his memories of how he started his ballet career, shared insights about ballet education, and answered the students' questions.
The Philadelphia Ballet's Soloists performed in last night's Ballet Gala. The Company's participation in the Tbilisi Ballet Festival is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Georgia.
We were fortunate to have a very special moderator with us, Elena Glurjidze, Georgian-born Former Lead Principal Ballerina at English National Ballet.

The students of Vakhtag Chabukiani Tbilisi State School of Ballet Art attended the public lecture of modern dance researcher, Khatuna Mzarelua,
held at the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Art Academy, within the framework of the Francophonie month, with the support of the French Institute and the Ministry of Culture,
Sports and Youth of Georgia.
Within the framework of the lecture, the ballet of one of the greatest French choreographers of our time, Angeline Preljocage - "Fresco" was shown.
In the first part of the evening - an ode to French ballet, the researcher of modern dance spoke about three historical ballets: "The Blue Train" (1924),
"Bolero" (1961, Maurice Bejart's version) and "Overcoming the Night" (2018). The second part was dedicated to the choreographer Angeline Preljocage.
Khatuna Mzarelua also presented her first book on dance - "Cafe Müller", which was published with the main financial support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia.

With the support and funding of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, rehearsals of a ballet performance based
on the work of Vazha-Pshavela, a classic of Georgian literature, poet and writer, "Chkhikvta qorcili" are taking place in the school.
Rehearsals are staged under the leadership of famous ballet actor and choreographer Alexey Fadeechev.
In the history of the school, this will be the first attempt to stage a ballet performance based on a Georgian work and another successful project,
through which the Georgian ballet school will be presented and popularized.
